A method of controlling data record of an optical disk is provided to search a file easily by performing a record process only when the types of a first and a second data are identical to each other. A method of controlling data record of an optical disk comprises the steps of: storing information on the type of a first file in a specified area of the optical disk when the data needs to be stored(S10); checking whether the type of a second file is identical to that of the first file after storing the first file type information(S12); and recording the information if the types of the first and the second files are identical(S13), and outputting a message that the first and the second files are different if not(S14).
