PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape lapping device where the axis of a recessed surface relatively rigid of a hard shoe assembly is centered at the deflected rotating axis of the shaft-shaped workpiece, when the rotating axis of the shaft-shaped workpiece has a deflection with respect to the axis of the recessed surface relatively rigid of a hard shoe assembly. SOLUTION: One of the ends 7 having spheres of a pair of pins is movably supported on a shoe frame 5 with a clearance in only the axial direction (X axis direction) of the pin 6, and the other end having a sphere of a pair of pins is triaxially movably supported on the shoe frame with a clearance in each of the axial direction (X axis direction) of the pin, Y axis direction orthogonal to the axis direction (X axis direction) of the pin, and Z-axis direction orthogonal to the Y axis direction. When the rotating center 8 of the shaft-shaped workpiece 3 has a deflection with respect to the axis 9 of the recessed surface 2a relatively rigid of the hard shoe assembly (Fig.2 (c)), the axis 9 of the recessed surface 2a relatively rigid of the shoe assembly 2 is centered at the deflected enter 8' of the shaft shape workpiece 3.
