PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display panel capable of obtaining a large pretilt angle using an alignment means by a photo-alignment layer suitable for the alignment division, or capable of reducing the burn-in, and the manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display panel has a pair of substrates, on at least one of which a first alignment layer and a second alignment layer are superposed in this order, and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched by the pair of the substrates. The first alignment layer is a photo-alignment layer, and the liquid crystal display panel is formed in such a manner that the second alignment layer covers the surface of the liquid crystal layer side of the first alignment layer.
