PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove dust with a small-sized and low-cost apparatus by improving a technology of removing dust contained in air. SOLUTION: Air 6 containing dust is introduced by an air supply pipe 2. A member 5 for generating a vortex flow is disposed in the air supply pipe 2. A coagulant adding device 4 is provided near the member 5, and a coagulant 3 exerting coagulation action under conditions of presence of water and agitation is added. The added coagulant is sufficiently mixed by vortex flow occurring in the downstream of the member 5 generating the vortex flow. An air flow containing the dust and the coagulant is blown into water in a treating water tank 1 and collides against a collision plate 1a. This collision causes strong agitation of water nearby. The coagulant exerting the coagulation action with the conditions of water and agitation exerts the coagulation action to precipitate dust. The precipitated dust is taken out by a conveyer 7, charged into a dehydrating machine 8 and formed into cake 9. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
