PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe dishwasher with excellent handleability, in which a washing tub can be automatically opened and closed. SOLUTION: The dishwasher includes: the washing tub provided with an opening for taking dishes in and out on the upper side; an outer frame for holding the washing tub; a washing means provided in the washing tub; a moving means for making it possible to pull out the washing tub from the outer frame to the front; and a driving means for moving the washing tub in front and back directions by the moving means. The washing tub is operated to a prescribed position while being moved from the inside of the outer frame and then is stopped by the driving means, and the moving means makes it possible to manually pull it out to be fully open after the stoppage.
