PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station, terminal device, and communication method in which reduction in communication quality can be suppressed in a radio communication system where a space division multiple access (SDMA) system is implemented using adaptive array control. SOLUTION: A base station according to the present invention is configured to execute adaptive array control using a plurality of antenna elements and exchanges radio signals with a plurality of terminal devices through the space division multiple access system, and comprising: an instruction unit which transmits instruction information instructing transmission of a radio signal containing dummy data which are different for each terminal device, when no transmission data are contained in the radio signal; and a receiving unit for receiving the radio signal containing the dummy data transmitted from the terminal device based on the instruction information.
