PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner for easily pulling a main body around during cleaning and facilitating lead wire processing. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes a main body 1 where a dust collecting chamber 2 for collecting dust and an electric blower 3 are disposed, an electric traveling unit 4 composed of a motor 5 and a traveling roller 7 rotationally driven by the motor 5 and provided at the lower part of the main body 1 for making the main body 1 travel, rear casters 17 for traveling, and a shaft 10 for communicating between the electric traveling unit 4 and the main body 1, and a lead wire 11 for feeding power to the motor 5 is disposed inside the shaft 10. Since the main body 1 can be lightly pulled around even during cleaning on a carpet or the like, burdens of cleaning are substantially reduced. by disposing the lead wire 11 inside the shaft 10, the wiring processing of the lead wire 11 is facilitated and the lead wire 11 is not twisted when the main body 1 travels.
