PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker capable of perceiving from outside of the circuit breaker that an electric path is cut off for wiring protection when excessive current occurred in the electric path and that the electrical path is cut off since the current flowing in the electric path has reached a predetermined established current value and a prescribed time-limit characteristic control is made. SOLUTION: The circuit breaker is provided with first and second current transformers 105, 106 respectively installed in electric paths 10 of a plurality of phases, a switch mechanism 103 to open and cut the electric paths, an operating handle to be interlocked with the switch mechanism, a tripping means 104 and a trip coil 109 which act on the switch mechanism and carry out tripping operation when a prescribed current has flowed in the electric paths, and an operation control part 108 which carries out a prescribed time-limit characteristic control by comparing the current flowing in the electric path with a predetermined established current value in a breaker unit 101 constituting the outer shell of the circuit breaker 1.
