PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved support device having a cost advantage and a reduced size as desired while maintaining advantages of easy and inexpensive manufacture and easy maintenance. SOLUTION: The support device comprises a lower shoe 1 and an upper she 2, a middle show 3 mounted therebetween, a lower slide support mechanism Sa, and an upper slide support mechanism Sb. The lower slide support mechanism Sa has a pair of guide members 6, 6 having an eaves portion 6A located on the upper side of a flange portion 13 at the lower end of the middle shoe and a plurality of bolts 10 for fixing them to the lower shoe 1, so that it develops the function of guiding the middle shoe 3 to the lower shoe 1 and the function of restricting the upward movement of the middle shoe relative to the lower shoe. The lower end of the guide member 6 is formed in a stepped shape with a downward protruded strip 23 on the middle shoe side of an abutting portion on a body upper face 1a fittably to a recessed groove 22 formed on the upper face 1a of a body 1P, and the bolt 10 is arranged vertically passing through a fitting portion between the recessed groove 22 and the protruded strip 23.
