<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing an iodine compound from an organic acid, comprising passing the organic acid containing the iodine compound as an impurity through a silver-carrying cation exchange resin-filled layer to remove the iodine compound from the organic acid, by which the same silver availability as that in a case of a liquid-passing treatment at a high temperature exceeding 50°C can be obtained, even when a liquid-passing treatment is performed at a liquid-passing temperature of ≤50°C, preferably ≤40°C. <P>SOLUTION: This method for adsorbing and removing an iodine compound from an organic acid, comprising passing the organic acid containing the iodine compound as an impurity through a silver-carrying cation exchange resin-filled layer to remove the iodine compound from the organic acid, is characterized in that the cation exchange resin is a macroporous type resin which has an average particle diameter of 0.3 to 0.6 mm and an average fine pore diameter of 15 to 28 nm and 40 to 60% of whose active sites are replaced by silver. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
