PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to specify his or her desired electronic document arranged in a rough area in an electronic document management system configured as document handling software.

SOLUTION: This electronic document management device 10 for managing an electronic document stored in a memory is provided with: a layout position storage part 120 for storing the information of the layout positions of display elements in a display area showing the display elements of the electronic document; an area recognition part 130 for recognizing an area in the display area according to a user operation for designating the area; and an electronic document specification part 150 for specifying an electronic document relating to display elements included in the area by using the information of the area recognized by the area recognition part 130 and the information of the layout position stored in the layout position storage part 120.
