A block for protecting a riverbed is provided to couple with other blocks stably and to increase bearing capacity of blocks by having a vertical projection driven in a riverbed and horizontal projections coupling blocks, to protect an ecosystem by forming many long and narrow grooves on the top of a block and growing small aquatic plants naturally in the grooves, and to reduce the time and cost required for construction by driving a vertical projection in a riverbed simply for construction. A block(A) for protecting a riverbed comprises a rectangular body(10), a vertical projection(20) extended from the center of the bottom of the body in the shape of a horn and unified with the body, and horizontal projections(30,40,50,60) extended from four sides of the body and unified with the body. Many long and narrow grooves(10a,10b,10c) are formed on the top of the flat surface of the body, and many long and narrow grooves(30a,40a,50a,60a) are formed on the top of each flat surface of the projections, wherein small aquatic plants grow naturally in the grooves of the body and the projections to protect an ecosystem. |
