An optical connection method and an optical connection structure between an optical transmitter and an optical receiver are provided to increase the capacity of transmission by performing an interfacing operation between chips and accelerating a transmitting operation of a high-speed signal. A light source element(104), a light detection element(105), a light transmission unit(102) connected electrically to the light source element, and a light detection unit connected electrically to the light detection unit are formed on a substrate(101). A flexible light transmission connection medium(106) is prepared to connect the light source element with the light detection element electrically. An end part of the flexible light transmission connection medium is cut. A surface of the cut part of the flexible light transmission connection medium is processed. One end of the surface-processed flexible light transmission connection medium is directly connected to the light source element. The other end of the surface-processed flexible light transmission connection medium is directly connected to the light detection element.
