The container (3) comprises a relatively rigid vessel (15) which is not compressible by the vacuum generated inside the mixer cavity in order to remove the container contents. The vessel is made from at least one material which prevents the escape of the liquid component. The vessel includes a connection portion (16) with an enclosing wall (21) extending around the vessel and the latter is opened when connected to a corresponding connection portion of the mixer. The connection portion of the mixer includes a seal for closing the mixing cavity, and an opening device which presses a hole in the seal in an upwards direction when the connection portion of the vessel is engaged with that of the mixer, and then presses a hole in the enclosing wall of the connection portion of the vessel, allowing the container contents to be sucked out of the vessel cavity (18) and into the mixing cavity. The mixer contains at least one mixing cavity in which the liquid component, preferably a monomer, is combined with the powder component (4), preferably a polymer. The powder component is stored in the mixing cavity and combined with the liquid component by using a vacuum to empty the latter from the container.
