A method for using traffic information and a terminal are provided to operate a broadcasting module only when reception of traffic information is essential, and to perform a dynamic navigation function when an optimum path service is necessary, thereby preventing unnecessary power loss as providing required information at proper time. Reservation information related to traffic information reception is inputted and stored(S602,S604). It is decided whether the current time is identical with reception time included in the reservation information(S606). If so, traffic information is received(S608,S610). The reception time is a predetermined time calculated by considering a time for processing data by using a reservation time included in the reservation information.
