An imaging lens is provided to easily achieve downsizing and high performance by optimizing a power balance between lenses by performing high focus control without change of an overall length. An imaging lens includes a front group(G1), rear groups(G3,G4), and a focusing lens(G2). The front group is composed of one or two lenses and has positive refracting power as a whole. The rear groups are composed of two or three lenses and have negative refracting power as a whole. The focusing lens is arranged between the front group and the rear groups, has the positive refracting power, and moves on an optical axis for focus control.
