PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in a telephone answering system wherein a plurality of operators answer customers by telephones at a call center of a company, etc. , customer information such as a security code and individual information cannot be adequately protected by a method of acquiring the customer information by a telephone. SOLUTION: This telephone answering system answers the customer by the telephone by switching answering by an automated voice and answering by an operator when the system receives a call from the customer. When the system obtains information for confirming the customer's identity such as the authentication of a security code or the system obtains information which requires customer's willingness such as an offer of a contract, the system is switched to an automated voice answering function and then accepts the customer's phone call.
