A method for encrypting/decrypting an EPC(Electronic Product Code) and an RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) system using the same are provided to increase the security of the EPC when an RFID is authenticated by encrypting/decrypting the EPC based on an AES(Advanced Encryption Standard) encryption/decryption algorithm. An RFID tag(110) stores an EPC, transmits the stored EPC to an RFID reader(120), and stores the encrypted EPC received from the RFID reader. The RFID reader reads and transmits the EPC stored in the RFID tag to middleware(130), and transmits the encrypted EPC received from the middleware to the RFID tag. The middleware includes an encryption module(132) encrypting the EPC padding a random based on an encryption algorithm after padding a random number to the EPC received from the RFID reader, stores the encrypted EPC code to a database by dividing the encrypted EPC into a front and reader code, and transmits the encrypted EPC to the RFID tag through the RFID reader. A database stores the front and rear code of the EPC encrypted by using the encryption module of the middleware. The encryption module encrypts a 128-bit EPC by padding a 32-bit random number in a 96-bit EPC and performing encryption with an AES-128 algorithm. |
