PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver enabling a user to easily access and view a content on the Internet by using an existing electronic program display function without installing a browser. SOLUTION: The URL of a web site distributing the content is referred to, and a transmission of HTML data (HTML request) describing data for the content is requested to this site (step S11). In response to the HTML request, the HTML data transmitted from the web site distributing the content are received (step S12), and the received HTML data are analyzed (step S13). The data for the content are extracted on the basis of a result of analysis in the step S13 (step S14), and an event list is created (step S15).
