The device has a refrigerant circuit guiding a refrigerant with a compressor (10), a gas cooler (12) and an evaporator (9), where the evaporator cools air in an operating mode. A refrigerant circuit of a combustion engine (1) guides the refrigerant with a refrigerant pump (2), and a heating body (8) is streamed by the refrigerant, so that air is heated by the heating body. A refrigerant heat exchanger (13) for entering heat of a cooling medium in the refrigerant in the heat operation mode is downstream to the compressor. An independent claim is also included for a method for air conditioning of a motor vehicle.
