PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell in which a mediator giving no adverse effect on environment and a living body. SOLUTION: The fuel cell is provided with an anode and a cathode with an electrolyte membrane in between, and at least the anode has an enzyme and a mediator and the mediator is protein of a biological origin which can transport electron.
