PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ingot assembly by which materials other than ingots (e.g. return scrap) can be charged into a melting furnace by using existing facilities and also combustion efficiency can be improved. SOLUTION: The ingot assembly is of an approximately rectangular shape in which ingots 2 having fixed vertically long shape and arranged into a planar shape are stacked in a plurality of steps. This ingot assembly has: a lowermost step consisting of a plurality of ingots arranged in a manner to be in parallel and adjacent with and to each other; and a plurality of upper steps in which a couple of ingots arranged in a manner to be in parallel with each other at an interval are stacked, on the above lowermost step, in a plurality of steps in a double cross.
