PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder resin for electrophotographic toners excellent in charge buildup performance and having such a good charge amount level as to provide high image density, and an electrophotographic toner including the binder resin. SOLUTION: The binder resin for electrophotographic toners includes a condensation polymer resin obtained by condensation polymerization of raw material monomers in the presence of a tin (II) compound having no Sn-C bond and a sulfonic acid group-containing compound.
