<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a lid body supporting device which can prevent an axle part and a bearing part of a lid body from breaking while the lid body is retained not to separate from the bearing part at the time when an irresistible strong external force acts to the lid body. <P>SOLUTION: A recessed part 642 has a right side wall part 611 and a left side wall part 612. While an opening and closing cover 65 is pivoted rotatably to a carriage body 64, a tongue piece part 654 of the opening and closing cover 65 is brought into a state to be loosely fitted in with a constant clearance between the right side wall part 611 and the left side wall part 612. When an external force in a rotary axis direction to a left side bearing part 641 of the carriage body 64 acts to the opening and closing cover 65, the tongue piece part 654 of the opening and closing cover 65 comes into contact with the left side wall part 612 of the recessed part 642, whereby movement of the opening and closing cover 65 by the external force is regulated.
