A method for forming a plate glass is provided to produce a plate glass having various patterns for decoration effect on one side and an irregular and minute embossment for light scattering effect on the other side. A method for forming a plate glass with various patterns comprises the steps of: stacking a plate glass(10) with a predetermined shape and size onto an inflammable material(12) loaded onto a transfer board(14) on a conveyer(16); transferring the transfer board into a heating furnace(18); heating the transferred plate glass in the heating furnace to melt the surface of plate glass while burning the inflammable material; transferring the molten plate glass out of the heating furnace; forming a pattern on a surface of the plate glass by using a press(22) with an engraved pattern; and cooling the patterned plate glass. Preferably, quartz sands or releasing agents are spread onto the transfer board prior to loading of the inflammable material.
