PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power amplifying apparatus capable of preventing overload of a power amplifying part in a suitable and appropriate manner, while reducing the cost. SOLUTION: The power amplifying apparatus 100 comprises amplitude level adjusting parts 110 each for adjusting the amplitude level of an input signal to be amplified; power amplifiers 120 each for amplifying the signal as adjusted in the amplitude level to a predetermined signal level and outputting the signal as amplified to a respective speaker SP; a power supply part 130 for supplying a current to each of the power amplifiers 120; and a level control part 140 for detecting the value of the current to be supplied to each of the power amplifiers 120 by the power supply part 130, while controlling, based on the detected current value, each of the amplitude level adjusting parts 110. The level control part 140 has an arrangement that, upon detection of a current value greater than a predetermined current value, controls each of the amplitude level adjusting parts 110 to restrict the amplitude levels of the input signals, which are to be applied to the power amplifiers 120, to a predetermined level.
