TONER CONSUMPTION QUANTITY ARITHMETIC OPERATION DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND TONER CONSUMPTION QUANTITY ARITHMETIC OPERATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect the quantity of toner consumption even when the use environment or the use condition is changed.

SOLUTION: A toner quantity arithmetic operation device includes: a temperature/humidity sensor 23; a density detecting means 24 for detecting the density of an image formed on an image carrier; a counter 26 for counting the cumulative number of rotations of the image carrier; a storage means 27 for storing related information related to the calculation of a quantity of toner consumption and having information for deriving the quantity of toner consumption; a calculating means 28 for calculating the quantity of toner consumed for image formation, by using the related information; an arithmetic operating means 28 for arithmetically operating the cumulative value of the quantity of toner consumption; and a determining means 28 for determining whether the cumulative value of the quantity of toner consumption is a predetermined value or above. Optimum information for deriving the quantity of toner consumption is selected from the relating information taking account of the detection results by the temperature/humidity sensor 23 and density detection means 24 and the count value of the cumulative number of rotations of the image carrier. This optimum information is used for calculating the quantity of toner consumption.
