PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner which enables the continuation of cleaning even with the dust collection container popped up. SOLUTION: When the dust collection container 410 is already popped up by pop up means 1100 and 1110, if the dust collection container 410 is mounted again at the mounting position to be locked by a fixing means 1200, a lock releasing means does not work to release the locking by the fixing means 1200. When the opened lid case 500 is closed and the dust collection container 410 is mounted again at the mounting position to be locked by the fixing means 1200 while the lid case 500 is locked by the locking means, the lock release means also does not work to release locking with a clamp 700 and the fixing means 1200.
