PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dendritic polyester and a thermoplastic resin composition blended with the same, wherein the resin can be remarkably improved in thin-wall fluidity, rigidity, gas barrier properties and the like and also to provide a thermoplastic resin composition containing such a dendritic polyester. SOLUTION: The dendritic polyester contains at least one constituent unit selected from an aromatic oxycarbonyl unit (P), an aromatic and/or aliphatic dioxy unit (Q) and an aromatic dicarboxy unit (R), and a tri- or more-functional organic residue (B) and the content of (B) relative to the total monomers constituting the dendritic polyester is within the range of 7.5-50 mol%.
