摘要 <p>Based on preliminarily known data, an analyst inputs the mass of an ion, which would be formed in the course of cleavage at a high possibility, and the compositional formula thereof from the input unit (8). As a result, a compositional formula list (62) is formed in the database (6). When an ion thus formed is obtained in performing MS&lt;SUP&gt;n&lt;/SUP&gt; analysis, it is confirmed in the data processing unit (5) whether or not the mass of the ion can be found in the compositional formula list (62). In the case where the mass is found, the compositional formula corresponding the mass is decided. Based on the difference in mass between a precursor ion and the ion formed above and so on, the compositional formula of the precursor ion is estimated. When a candidate for the compositional formula of the target ion can be finally narrowed down, the analysis is terminated. In the case where the compositional formula list (62) is usable, the process of narrowing down the candidate for the compositional formula can be omitted and, therefore, the time for the analytical processing can be shortened and the possibility of the compositional formula of a target ion or a target substance to be finally presented to the analyst can be elevated.</p>
