PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pad set for a disk brake having a shim with a hook which locks on a pad side while the pad set is not elastically deformed. SOLUTION: The pad set for a disk brake comprises a pad 3 integrally having a friction material 4 and back plate 5, and the shim 2 arranged between the back plate 5 of the pad 3 and a pushing member which pushes the pad 3 toward a disk rotor. The shim 2 has the outer hook 2b and inner hook 2c which are respectively locked on the outer peripheral section and inner peripheral section of the back plate 5. The outer hook 2b and inner hook 2c are prevented from slipping off the back plate 5 in the direction of the pushing member when they are not elastically deformed in a free state and they have plays against the back plate 5.
