<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection system which can improve detection precision by preventing a magnetic material from adhering to a proximity sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The proximity sensor 20 provided with a permanent magnet 25 as a magnetic field generation section and a Hall IC 26 as a detection section is provided on the upper rail side, while a lock plate 8 on the lower rail side is an object to be detected. The lock plate 8 is arranged so that it faces the proximity sensor 20 only when a seat is located in a rearward position with respect to the front end. The Hall IC 26 outputs different detection signals depending on the presence or absence of the lock plate 8. The proximity sensor 20 is provided with protrusions 29 made of a nonmagnetic material and prevents the adherence of the magnetic material M through the protrusions 29. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
