PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspension device installable even in a facility having a lower ceiling and preventing vibration from being transmitted to a suspension load when it is operated and stopped. SOLUTION: The suspension device has a base body 11 provided at an upper part of a suspension device body 1 for moving up and down a long suspension load W provided to point a vertical direction, a suspending tool 12, suspended from the base body 11, for suspending the suspension load and a hook member 17, provided at a side part of the suspension load and hooked by the suspending tool. The suspension device body has a driving device 212 for moving the suspension tool up and down and a guiding member 13 provided in parallel with the suspension load and the suspension device is provided with an engaging member 15, provided to point to the guide member integrally with the side part of the suspension load, moving up and down along the guide member with operation of the driving device by engaging with the guide member.
