<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, a charging method, and a charging program by which appropriate charging can be performed. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus by which monochromatic copying and color copying are made possible has a decision means of deciding whether the original image read from an original to be copied is a monochromatic copy, a charge calculation means of calculating the charge according to the monochromatic copy and the color copy.
