<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, wherein pressing force applied to a transfer roller can be adjusted in a longitudinal direction so as to eliminate pressure deviation occurring in the longitudinal direction of the transfer roller in a transfer nip formed by an image carrier and the transfer roller. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of pressing means 60 and 70 applying pressing force to a primary transfer bias roller 9 can be individually controlled at least based on information that the pressure deviation exists in the longitudinal direction of the primary transfer bias roller of the transfer nip formed by a photoreceptor 1 which is the image carrier and the primary transfer bias roller 9 which is the transfer roller. Thus, even when the pressure deviation occurs in the longitudinal direction of the transfer nip, the pressing force can be adjusted in the longitudinal direction so that the pressure deviation is eliminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
