摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of exhibiting the original performance of a turbocharger over a long term by detecting some failure of a gasket provided at a joint portion between a discharging passage and the turbocharger. SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine includes: the turbocharger 70 wherein exhaust gas flows from a first introduction port 74a and a second introduction port 74b communicating respectively with a first collective passage 81 and a second collective passage 82 which are connected to the exhaust passage 80; a gasket 83 which prevents exhaust gas from leaking from the first collective passage 81 and the second collective passage 82, which are provided at the joint portion among the first introduction port 74a, the second introduction port 74b and the exhaust passage 80; an actual intake air amount detection unit 52 for detecting an actual intake air amount; an estimated intake air amount calculating unit 90 for calculating an estimated intake air amount in accordance with a running state thereof; and an abnormarity detecting unit 91 for detecting some abnormarity of the gasket 83 when a difference between the actual intake amount and the estimated intake air amount exceeds a predetermined value.
