PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display controller in which a display mode can be changed over without giving a user sense of incongruity depending upon the kinds of images. SOLUTION: A display controller 10 judges the kinds of the image to be displayed on a display device 50 in which four primary colors are displayed from metadata showing the kind. The switching (W=0, W=255 or the value determined from an input signal) of the video signal for white is performed by the judgment.
