PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composite spun yarn which produces a woven or knitted fabric having properties such as stretchability, clothing comfortableness, crispy feeling and cool sense. SOLUTION: The composite spun yarn is obtained by coating a core layer composed of a latently crimpable polyester fiber with a sheath layer containing a natural bamboo fiber, and has a mixing ratio of a natural bamboo fiber of 40-85 mass%. The composite spun yarn is obtained by introducing a roving yarn containing a natural bamboo fibers into a ring spinning frame, drafting the roving yarn, plying the drafted roving yarn on a latently crimpable polyester yarn introduced from the outside at a front roller as the end point of a draft zone and twisting the plied yarns.
