PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for achieving the migration of data between volumes to be accessed by a host computer without bringing about such a status that the host computer stops. SOLUTION: A host computer 10 and a storage sub-system 14 are connected through paths 54 and 56, and a storage sub-system 12 and the storage sub-systems 14 are connected through paths 58 and 60, and when data are copied from an old volume 62 of the storage sub-system 12 at the origin of migration through buses 58 and 60 to a new volume 64 of the storage sub-system 14, and I/O processing is received from the host computer 10, the storage sub-system 14 responds to the I/O processing.
