PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tatami bed in which big displacement is given by small power. SOLUTION: The cam mechanism and the link mechanism are known as good components for a tatami bed in the prior arts. However, the cam mechanism has the advantage that bigger lift power can be obtained, but it has the disadvantage that bigger displacement cannot be obtained. The link mechanism has the reverse effects. The present invention is designed to combine the advantage and the disadvantage of cam mechanism and link mechanism so that only the advantages of both mechanisms can be utilized. In the first stage which requires big lift power for lifting up the bed at first, the cam mechanism for driving is utilized, and in the latter stage where the bed is lifted to some extent and a big lift power is not further required, the link mechanism is used to obtain big displacement.
