PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support system determining whether to pass a vehilcle in consideration of an oncoming vehicle existing in a required overtaking section. SOLUTION: Parked and stopped vehicles existing in front of one's own vehicle are extracted in the direction same as that of the own vehicle from other vehicle information, in a front vehicle extraction block 5A. A distance required for passing a front vehicle is calculated using information of the front vehicle and one's own vehicle information, in a required overtaking distance calculation block 5B. An oncoming vehicle existing in front of the own vehicle is extracted in a travelling direction opposite to that of the own vehicle from other vehicle information, in a collision point estimating block 5C. A collision point where the own vehicle collides with the oncoming vehicle is estimated therein based on extracted oncoming vehicle information, the required overtaking section and the own vehicle information. A risk of causing the collision is determined based on a positional relation between the collision point and the own vehicle, in a risk determination block 5D.
