PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display device having high display characteristics free from image unevenness due to nonuniform colored fine particles and to provide a method for efficiently producing the above device. SOLUTION: The electrophoretic display device has at least a dispersion liquid or solution of a colorant filled in a plurality of liquid chambers, and the device has an inlet to introduce the dispersion liquid or solution into the plurality of liquid chambers and a pressure release outlet of the liquid chambers, wherein each of the plurality of liquid chambers has at least two flow passages connecting to other liquid chambers.
