PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage of a green compact and a lower punch upon the discharging of the green compact even when a compacting cycle is accelerated. SOLUTION: Regarding the compacting apparatus 1, a material powder fed to a cavity 10 in a die 9 is subjected double press compacting by a lower punch 15 and an upper punch 33, so as to form a green compact. Thereafter, a feeder 45 is progressed, and is temporarily stopped before the cavity 10. Subsequently, the lower punch 15 is lowered to the die 9 till the upper face of the lower punch 15 infiltrates into the cavity 10, and thereafter, the feeder 45 is further progressed, so as to perform the discharging of the green compact.
