<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor ceramic composition for a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) thermistor which has low specific resistance at a normal temperature, large positive temperature coefficient and specific resistance change rate to a temperature and Curie point shifted to high temperature side without using Pb and a compounding material for the PTC thermister which can provide the semiconductor ceramic composition for the PTC thermister. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor ceramic composition for the PTC thermistor contains each element of Ba, Ti, Bi, O as essential components and further one or more kinds of univalent alkali metals. The molar ratio X<SB>2</SB>of the univalent alkali metal to Bi is 0.65≤X<SB>2</SB>≤1.59, the content of Nb is ≤480 ppm and each content of Sb, Ta and each of rare earth element k is ≤10 ppm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
