摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and efficiently polishing track surfaces with different diameters of an outer ring. <P>SOLUTION: The outer ring 1 of a wheel bearing device is set so that the outer diameter surface of the inner ring 2 and the inner diameter surface of the outer ring 1 have opposing two-row track surfaces 2a, 1a and 2a', 1a' respectively along the whole circumferential direction, and the inner diameters R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>of the respective track surfaces 1a, 1a' are different. In a manufacturing method of the wheel bearing device for polishing the respective track surfaces 1a, 1a' of the outer ring 1 by sliding the outer diameter surface of a rotary grinding wheel on the inner diameter surface of the outer ring 1, such a method is employed that one rotary grinding wheel 20 is inserted from a large diameter groove 1a side of the outer ring 1 to slide the outer diameter surface on a small diameter groove 1a' of the outer ring 1 to polish it, thereafter the other grinding wheel 10 is inserted from the same side in the axial direction to slide the outer diameter surface on the large diameter groove 1a of the outer ring 1 to polish it. Upon changing the track surface to be polished, the operation can be kept doing without exchanging the outer ring, thereby eliminating an error in exchanging and accurately and efficiently polishing the respective track surfaces. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p>
