<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver and a coded data reproduction method which output a visually successful reproduced image even when a transmission rate of coded data sharply deviates from regulation in coding by lack of bands of a transmission path or temporary delay. <P>SOLUTION: An offset setting part 10 input buffer occupancy from a video buffer 8, when the buffer occupancy is equal to or less than a preset lower limit threshold, increases offset and when the buffer occupancy is equal to or more than a preset upper limit threshold, decreases the offset.
