摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generating mechanism utilizing a liquid crystal flow capable of supplying power to an external part utilizing a flexoelectric effect in a liquid crystal. SOLUTION: The power generating mechanism consists of: a liquid crystal storing member that includes the liquid crystal LC having ferroelectric properties and a pair of walls SP and MP positioned so as to sandwich the liquid crystal LC; and an output terminal A connected to the pair of walls SP and MP in the liquid crystal storing member. The pair of walls SP and MP of the liquid crystal storing member are provided relatively movably along surfaces sandwiching the liquid crystal LC in the pair of walls SP and MP. Liquid crystal fixing treatment for fixing movement of liquid crystal molecules m positioned in the vicinity of the surface is performed on one surface of opposed surfaces of the pair of walls SP and MP of the liquid crystal storing member. Liquid crystal restricting treatment for restricting the liquid crystal molecules m positioned in the vicinity of the surface so that the liquid crystal molecules m can be rotated and moved along a moving direction of the wall MP together with the wall MP on which the surface is provided is performed on the other surface.
