PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly correct a measured value of printing darkness. SOLUTION: In this method of correcting a measured printing darkness value, inks are discharged from a plurality of nozzles which move in the moving direction to form a dot string in each row region along the moving direction, and a pattern composed of a plurality of dots formed in the plurality of row regions which are arranged in a direction crossing the moving direction is formed on a medium. Then, the pattern formed on the medium is read by a scanner, and the printing darkness of each row region of the pattern is measured. By taking an average of the measured values of the printing darkness of the dots in a predetermined number of row regions which are arranged in the direction crossing the moving direction, the printing darkness of dots is calculated corresponding to each row region. Based on the calculated printing darkness corresponding to each row region, the measured value of the printing darkness is corrected in each row region. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
