PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording head which can stably remove an ink with increased foams and viscosity from the inside of a liquid chamber without closing the nozzle lower surface even when a high pressure is applied when sucking, and is excellent in maintainability. SOLUTION: This recording head discharges liquid droplets from a liquid chamber by using a thermal mechanical actuator. In the recording head, a step is formed on the liquid droplet discharging side surface of the thermal mechanical actuator. The step may be formed by a projecting body which projects to the liquid droplet discharging side from the liquid droplet discharging side surface of the thermal mechanical actuator, or the step may be formed by a recess-form groove which indents to the opposite side from the liquid droplet discharging side from the liquid droplet discharging side surface of the thermal mechanical actuator. Alternatively, the step may be formed on the liquid chamber side internal surface of a wall which demarcates the liquid chamber, and on which a discharging port for discharging liquid droplets is formed.
