PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic punching apparatus with which punching is accurately performed without requiring the skill of a worker. SOLUTION: In a punching apparatus for punching holes in the edge part along the longitudinal direction of a long-length workpiece 4 at proper intervals with punches 7 and dies 8, in this automatic punching apparatus, a receiving base 5 which is arranged in the middle part of the punching device and with which the workpiece is made to advance to the working position by sliding on the upper surface is provided and a pair of single-line punching devices 2, 3 are arranged in opposing arrangement along the longitudinal direction on both sides of this receiving base. The single-line punching device is composed of a frame body 2b along the longitudinal direction, puncher frame 2c provided in one side along the longitudinal direction of the frame body, punches and dies which are hung down by taking the tip part as the downside and spacing the proper intervals in the longitudinal direction on the puncher frame, ascendable and descendable base 2d on which the dies are fixed and arranged and also which is elevated and lowered up and down and elevating/lowering devices 2a, 3a for elevating and lowering the ascendable and descendable base up and down.
